Reconciling Church

Reconciling Ministries NetworkFaith United Methodist Church is a Reconciling Congregation, and is part of the Reconciling Ministries Network, a movement made up of over 700 Reconciling communities and over 34,000 individuals who strive to transform the world by living out the Gospel’s teachings of grace, love, justice and inclusion for all of God’s children. After a discernment process, at our annual Church Conference on November 15, 2015, the people of Faith UMC voted unanimously to join the RMN. One of the steps involved in joining the Network is to “have approved a statement that specifically names a welcome of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.” Faith’s Mission Statement has specifically been inclusive of all persons “regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, race, or sexual orientation” for many years, so that served the purpose of our welcoming statement. We support the full inclusion of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in the life of the United Methodist Church and hope that is someday the case throughout churches of all faiths and creeds.
